KMC DLC 12 Chain Description:

The KMC DLC 12 Chain is a premium chain that marries exceptional durability and performance with colorful looks. The very hard titanium-carbon-nitrade DLC coating dramatically cuts down on the chances of the chain rusting, and this coating also creates a very slick surface for reduced friction and a faster rolling chain. As an additional benefit, there are a wide variety of available colors ranging from the very understated to the very bold to allow a little bit of personalization to the bike.

As for what is under the coating, the double X-bridge shaping of the plates in addition to extensive chamfering of the edges of the plates help this chain to mesh better and more quickly to gear teeth, resulting in a much better shifting quality. A special heat treatment and mushroom riveted pins with an extremely hard surface resist wear and chain stretch further enhancing the long term durability of the chain. Last but not least, these chains are non-directional and are compatible with 12 speed drivetrains from Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM.
