The 4700 chainset adopts features a four-arm design. Its available in four crank lengths between 165 and 175mm.The double is available as either 50/34 tooth compact for climbing or 52/36 semi-compact for performance riding

The shifters feature Reach Adjust and an Optical Gear Display in an ergonomic form that is compatible with 2×10 speed drivetrains. The mechanical cabling is seated along the handlebar under the bar tape.

Shimano Tiagra 4700 offers four cassette options with ranges available from 11-25 to 11-34 teeth. In combination with the compact chainset, the latter should provide plenty of range to tackle up and downhills. The sprockets are cut away and drilled to reduce weight without reducing rigidity. The nickel-plated finish offers hard wearing resistance to corrosion.
